Mrs. Gormley
WELCOME!
I'm Mrs. Gormley and I teach 8th grade US History and Michigan History.
8th grade USH covers American History from the Revolution including the Declaration of Independence through Reconstruction after the Civil War.
Michigan History is an elective class for 7th and 8th graders and is PROJECT BASED. This means the topics we cover in class are assessed through projects. Michigan History is a unique class because it is student driven. Students in Michigan History have a say in how they present their learning, how their learning is assessed, and when projects are due.
But who IS Mrs. Gormley?
I've been teaching here in Constantine for over 20 years! I am originally from Frankenmuth. I attended Saginaw Valley State University where I majored in Physical Education and Health and minored in History. While at Saginaw Valley, I originally studied sports medicine and was a certified athletic trainer. I went back to get my teaching certificate because I enjoyed working with student athletes. I received my master's degree in the Art of Teaching from Marygrove College in 2005.
While teaching in Constantine I've taught PE, health, high school US History and World History along with many different electives including First Aid,Sports Foundations and Michigan History.
My family and I love sports and the outdoors! We enjoy spending time at our cabin in Northern Michigan where we hike, kayak, go four-wheeling and swim. We also enjoy watching my son run Cross Country and Track and listening to my daughter play guitar.
