Superintendent Patrick Breen Earns “Effective” Rating in First Year Leading Constantine Public Schools

On Monday, June 16, 2025, the Constantine Public Schools Board of Education approved the 2024-2025 Superintendent Evaluation for Patrick Breen. Although officially named Superintendent only a few months ago, Breen has served as Interim Superintendent since the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year. In his first year leading the district, Breen earned an "Effective" rating - the highest possible designation - from the Board of Education.

Breen's leadership during the 2024-2025 school year has been marked by a steady focus on progress, transparency, and long-term sustainability. He has helped advance several major school improvement initiatives, including the district-wide roof replacement and repair project - a multi-million dollar effort that was previously included in the district's failed bond request. His ability to push this project forward without additional taxpayer burden is a significant accomplishment.

In addition to infrastructure improvements, Breen has led the district through a transformative shift in instruction. The transition to Standards-Based Teaching and Learning, supported by comprehensive curriculum mapping and alignment, has been one of the district's most significant academic undertakings. This initiative, which Breen has championed in each of his roles within Constantine Public Schools, is now approaching full implementation. The methodical and thoughtful approach to ensuring a successful transition has been a huge feat, and as the district nears the final stages of implementation, Breen shared he is thankful for all the work teachers and staff have shown throughout the process.

Constantine Board of Education President Stamp stated, "We are incredibly thankful for the strong and steady leadership Mr. Breen has provided during this past year. Mr. Breen works collaboratively with the Board and district leadership, and we value the positive, solution-focused approach he brings to the table."

"This has been a tremendous year of growth," Breen said. "I'm proud of the work we've accomplished, but I'm even more proud of the team around me. My evaluation is a reflection of the collective effort across our district. It takes many people doing the right thing every day to truly move a district forward. I'm excited for what lies ahead as we continue to grow and improve together."

The Constantine Public Schools Board of Education congratulates Mr. Breen on a successful first year and looks forward to continued progress under his leadership.
